The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System is part of the Desert Pacific Healthcare Network. The Healthcare System is comprised of the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center and six community clinics located in Blythe, Corona, Palm Desert, Rancho Cucamonga, Murrieta and Victorville. Opened in 1977, the Medical Center is named in memory of Congressman Jerry L. Pettis, who worked diligently to locate the facility in Loma Linda. It is one of the top 25 employers in the Inland Empire; with over 2,294 employees and 1,332 volunteers that serve over 65,000 Veterans who entrust their health care needs to the VA. The Medical Center provides a wide variety of services through inpatient, outpatient and home care programs. The major bed services are Medicine, Surgery and Behavioral Medicine. The facility has 156 acute care beds and a 108 bed Community Living Center.

AFFILIATIONS

Postgraduate medical and dental education programs are conducted with the Loma Linda University. In addition, the Medical Center is also affiliated with 106 other educational institutions and provides training for a variety of allied health specialists.
