The Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office (VARO), Jackson, Mississippi, has jurisdiction for the State of Mississippi.  The Regional Office occupies 2 full floors and some offices on the third floor of the 92,000 sq. ft. VBA-owned and operated building, and is collocated with the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery VA Medical Center. VBA took custody from the builder on June 30, 1997, at a cost of $20 million. Tenants of our facility include the national and state Veterans Services Organizations, the South Central VA Health Care Network, and the Human Resource Center- Jackson.  Attached to the main facility is a 3 story - 500 space parking garage that supports the employees of both this facility and the collocated VAMC. Facility amenities include a Military Museum of local military artifacts displayed and managed by the VA Employees, a replica of the VA History Time Line that is displayed in VBA Headquarters, a Freedom Shrine presented by a local EXCHANGE CLUB, and a Canteen Facility managed by the Veterans Canteen Service.
