The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System provides comprehensive medical care including acute/in-patient medical, surgical, and psychiatric care; extended/long-term medical and psychiatric care, rehabilitative inpatient care; and comprehensive outpatient care with multiple specialty services available. The facility also operates a large outpatient clinic in Fort Myers and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Bradenton, Naples, Palm Harbor, Port Charlotte, Sarasota, Sebring and St. Petersburg, Florida. Hours of Operation: General Clinical Care/ Administrative: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Emergency Care: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Visiting Hours: General Hospital Visiting Hours 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. daily Accommodations may be made for overnight and extended visiting hours by asking the patient’s healthcare team. Hospital Intensive Care Units 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. daily We usually request that only 2 visitors at a time visit patients in the ICUs. Other arrangements can be made by asking the healthcare team. Visitors can use the phones in the ICU waiting rooms to speak with a member of the healthcare team to determine if it is an appropriate time to visit. Children under 12 are generally not allowed in the ICUs. Acute Mental Health Services Daily: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitors are not permitted in the bedroom areas. Staff may restrict visitors if it is not in the therapeutic interest of the patient. Community Living Center (Nursing Home Care Unit) Visiting hours in our Community Living Center (CLC) are at the discretion of the resident. The healthcare team will support the resident’s choice for visiting hours while ensuring respect, safety and privacy for our other CLC residents. Residential Treatment Programs The Domiciliary is closed to guests from 9:00 pm to 7:30 am daily. Visiting hours in the Domiciliary are at the discretion of the resident and dependent on scheduled treatment activities. Emergency Department Visitors should use the Emergency Department (ED) waiting areas. The Healthcare team will determine when visitation is appropriate for the patient.
